They're the first school in the country to do so.
Pupils of Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne have trailed a new 'no mobile phone' system.
It's called a Yondr system and involves pupils placing their phones in a pouch magnetically locked at a wall upon arrival.
The magnetic lock on the pouch can only be removed using the same system at the wall at the end of the day.
They say it's to create phone-free spaces for students and prevent the misuse of taking photos and videos.
See an example below of how Yondr works at gigs and concerts:
REMINDER: tonight's #JackWhite concert is a PHONE FREE event!
Your phones will be checked into #yondr pouches upon entry you can carry with you. You can use them if you need at designated locations on concourses 📵 pic.twitter.com/dM2XqKOV2k

The 'Yondr' phenomenon originated in San Francisco in the US when the company was set up in 2014.
It's a popular method for preventing mobile phone use at high-end parties or celebrity events.
Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne allows students to use their mobile phones at lunchtime.
The phones are also usable during class time if permitted by teachers.
Overall, the school has said limiting mobile phone use has been a success.
