Several locals in South Kerry have been asked to give DNA samples to Gardaí investigating the death of 'Baby John'.
The infant was found with multiple stab wounds on a beach in Cahersiveen in April 1984.
In January, Gardaí confirmed they'd obtained a viable DNA profile of the baby - sparking fresh hopes that the mystery surrounding his death will finally be solved.
According to the Irish Examiner, samples have been taken from several people living in the area - while the renewed enquiry has turned up new information.
