Joe Biden held his first press conference as US President
US President Joe Biden has gone viral after a remark referring to 'the Brits' at a press conference.
He was holding his first press conference since he took office in January.
One of the issues he was grilled on was that of immigration, particularly around the border with Mexico.
He took sympathy with migrants who are trying to flee their own country for a better life, referring to his own family history:
Asked about the plight of migrants at the US-Mexico border, @JoeBiden made reference to his great grandfather leaving Ireland on a coffin ship. “They left because of what the Brits had been doing," he said. @rtenews pic.twitter.com/Q52fMDfwQe
