Jack the Dog
Gardaí have praised a dog called Jack, who refused to leave his owner's side after he was injured.
The elderly man was out walking Jack on Tuesday night when he fell into a ditch near Portarlington.
Officers say the man got stuck and could not get out.
Jack stayed by his side and showed Gardaí where he was.

It was a happy ending, as the man and Jack are home safe.
