Evan White, a 21 year old Irish student is in a critical condition after being the victim of a vicious attack while on a night out in San Diego.
The student from Cork was spending the Summer in Pacific Beach, a very popular destination for Irish J1 students. He was out celebrating his 21st birthday with friends and was found down an ally "unrecognisable" at the end of the night. It is not known yet what happened.
A source told the Irish Sun "He was taken to Scripps La Jolla Hospital in San Diego where he is in an induced coma."
