Drinking in Ireland
Irish teens start drinking alcohol at 14.
A new survey from Drinkaware, found that 74% of people believe drinking is "just a part of Irish culture."
Over a third of under-25s report binge drinking on a weekly basis.
The report also finds the average young Irish adult had their first taste of alcohol at 14 years of age.
Despite this, Drinkaware Chief Executive Sheena Horgan says:

"We're seeing hundreds of thousands on an annual basis coming onto the Drinkaware website looking facts, tips, calculators."
