Belgian publisher buys Independent News and Media
Independent News and Media has been sold for €145 million.
The company, which publishes the Irish Independent and Sunday Independent will be sold to Mediahuis.
The company also employs nearly 800 people in Ireland.
Mediahuis has become a leading media player in Belgium and the Netherlands.
The company has said it is “committed to accelerating the digitisation of its news brands without compromising the print editions.”
