Thousands Have Marched Through Dublin Over Homelessness and Housing

Thousands of protesters marched through Dublin City Centre demanding action on homelessness and housing.

Demonstrators say the Government’s failed to tackle the crises – with the number of people in emergency accommodation up 15% year-on-year.

The coalition is calling for a range of measures – including rent controls, more social housing and the declaration of a national emergency.

Housing campaigners will staged a mass protest in Dublin today to send a message to the government on the housing crisis.

The National Homelessness and Housing Coalition march begins at the Garden of Remembrance at two o'clock.

Organisers say they expect tens of thousands of people to join them, with more than 80 different groups represented.
