Heartbeat star Bill Maynard has passed away in a Leicestershire hospital, aged 89.
The sad news was shared by his family on Good Friday, with daughter-in-law Jacqueline Reddin saying:
"He was larger than life and he just loved showbiz."
The actress continued: "He was so proud of the fact that he had been working for 81 years.
"He leaves a son and daughter, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren."
