Major easing of restrictions from today
A huge easing of restrictions comes into effect from today, as 12,000 businesses are set to reopen their doors.
Among them, haircuts will be allowed while click-and-collect will resume for non-essential retail.
Other shops, including Penneys, are having shopping by appointment which will be in place until the full reopening of retail next week.
Intercounty travel restrictions have also been lifted.
Here is the full list of restrictions being eased from today:
- Intercounty travel.
- Outdoor garden visits from a maximum of 3 households or 6 people from any number of households.
- Outdoor gatherings of 15 people.
- Sports training can resume for adults in pods of 15.
- Click-and-collect, in-store shopping by appointment and outdoor retail can all reopen.
- Hairdressers, barbers and beauticians can reopen for appointments.
- Galleries, museums and libraries can all reopen.
- Max of 50 people at funeral and weddings services only. Limit of 6 people at wedding receptions.
- Public transport will run at 50 percent capacity.
- House viewings by appointment only with licensed Property Service Providers.
- If you are vaccinated - you can visit other households indoors.
More restrictions are to ease in the coming weeks, with the reopening of retail in full next week (May 17th).
Hotels can welcome back guests from June 2nd, with bars and restaurants allowed reopen for outdoor services from June 7th.
