A special meeting will be held by the government on Monday to discuss the 8th amendment.
The Health Minister will look for permission to hold a referendum on repeal at it.
Ministers will also be given advice from The Attorney General on the wording of an abortion referendum.
Pro-choice campaigners are calling for the government to call a referendum to repeal the 8th amendment by the 8th of March.
They're calling on all supporters of the campaign to strike in some shape or form if that demand isn't met.
