Gardaí say cyclists need to be spending up to €150 on a lock to make sure their bike isn't stolen.
People have stolen nearly 7,000 bikes since the start of last year.
However Gardaí have managed to recover less than a third of them.
They've launched a new campaign encouraging people to spend 10 to 20% of the value of their bike on 2 locks.
These 2 bicycles were handed into Rathmines Garda Station today. They were found in Rathmines a week ago. Gardaí are looking to reunite them with their owners.

Protect Your Bike With A Good Lock
Michael Walsh, a crime prevention officer in the Galway division, says that could make all the difference:
"If you get a thicker, better quality locks that have ceramic and other material in it that an angle grinder would find hard to cut, that's what you need."
"These small little angle grinders come with a very small blade."
"If the blade wears down before the lock is cut, then it's success for you."
"So the quality of the lock is important and the location you pick is important"
