Gardaí in Dublin are investigating "all of the circumstances" around the discovery of a woman's body in Ashtown.
Officers were alerted at around 10am this morning.
The woman, aged in her 40s, was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at an apartment in Royal Canal Park in Ashtown.
The scene has been preserved pending the arrival of the State Pathologist and the Garda Forensic Bureau. The body of the woman remains at the scene.
Gardai say they are following a definite line of inquiry.
Investigations are ongoing.
