Garda operation
Thousands of Garda checkpoints will be in place in the run up to and over the Bank Holiday weekend.
It's in an effort to ensure compliance with public heath travel restrictions.
From 7am tomorrow morning Gardaí will re-commence Operation Fanacht.
It was last rolled out over the Easter Holidays, and will see thousands of checkpoints and patrols and involve over 2,500 thousand Gardaí.
Gardaí from Kilmainham conducted a Covid Checkpoint on South Circular Road last night under a wonderful sunset. We would ask all members of the public to continue their excellent compliance with all Public Health Guidelines that are in place. #StayHome #SocialDistancing pic.twitter.com/icYntCep7J

Gardaí say there was a high level of compliance the last time, and it's vital that they see that again.
Seven people were arrested over the Easter weekend for failing to abide by the regulations designed to slow the spread of Covid-19.
There will be checkpoints on many main routes.
There will also be thousands of mobile checkpoints on secondary routes and in towns and villages.
High visibility patrols will be carried out at major tourist locations, parks and natural beauty spots.
The operation will be in place until Bank Holiday Monday.
