Gardaí stop man with blue lights
A man pretending to be a member of the gardaí was caught when he pulled a car over driven by plain clothes officers in North Dublin.
Yesterday in the Baldoyle area of Dublin, a man impersonating a Garda set up a make-shift check point using fake blue lights.
At around 3 PM he signaled a car to pull over, but didn't realise that it was being driven by Gardaí from the drugs unit who were in plain clothes.
A search of the car was carried out and a number of counterfeit items were seized including a fake Garda badge.
No arrests have been made and Gardaí say enquiries are ongoing.
