A 9 million euro package has been announced.
The government is set to subsidise antigen tests for third level students.
Financial supports have been put in place to allow free tests for those on campuses.
Higher Education Minister Simon Harris has brought the news.
Harris said that students across the country had been asking for assistance with the cost of tests.

It comes as new travel requirements come into effect from yesterday for those entering the country.
Passengers entering the Republic of Ireland will need proof of a negative PCR or antigen test.
The test must be carried out with a professional rather than being self-tested.
The government have gone back on their word in ways as they said they weren't going to subsidise
An awareness campaign will be launched to show how to use the tests properly.
