A former CIA operative turned film producer is begging the Irish government to give him asylum to avoid prison.
Don Victor Cisternino, an Irish passport holder, is currently in custody in Croatia awaiting extradition to the US, over an alleged multi-million dollar fraud.
Dundalk solicitor Ciaran Mulholland is pleading the Department of Foreign Affairs in Dublin on his behalf, to bring him here instead.
Cisternino is accused of being involved in a €6.4 million loan scam.
