Donald Trump faces inquiry after Democrats announcement
The US House of Representatives will open a formal impeachment inquiry against Donald Trump.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said it would examine whether Trump sought Ukraine's help to smear former vice president Joe Biden.
Biden is the front-runner for the 2020 Presidential nomination for the Democrats.
The times have found us. The actions taken to date by the President have seriously violated the Constitution. It is for this reason that the House of Representatives is moving forward with an official impeachment inquiry. pic.twitter.com/cHq7zgKJ1g

"This week, the President has admitted to asking the President of Ukraine to take actions which would benefit him politically," Speaker Pelosi said.
"The actions of the Trump Presidency revealed the dishonourable fact of the President's betrayal of his oath of office; betrayal of our national security and betrayal of the integrity of our elections."
It's claimed Trump asked his Ukrainian counterpart to investigate unsubstantiated charges that Biden threatened to withhold US aid, unless a prosecuter was fired.
It follows previous claims President Trump altered a weather map with a Sharpie.
