Pharmacist From Meath Says
Meanwhile, deliveries containing 60,000 doses of the Janssen are due to reach pharmacies around the country over the next few days.
Around 1,000 pharmacists are taking part in the scheme.
Pharmacist Kathy Maher from Haven Pharmacy in Duleek in County Meath says there's been great interest.
"We've had a phenomenal number of calls this morning."
"Perhaps some people can't travel to a vaccination centre."
She says the nearest one is at Navan, the Helix, Dundalk or Citywest.
"So it's been really beneficial to our area."
Dublin Pharmacist Says
An estimated 140,000 people over the age of 50 have yet to be vaccinated.
McNamara's Pharmacy is Swords Dublin was planning to be part of the rollout but ultimately opted out.
Pharmacist Jennifer O'Grady says it was mainly because of the age constraint.
"The over 50s who haven't been vaccinated chose against taking Astra Zeneca."
"But these Johnson and Johnson vaccines are very similar."
"So we think those who are vaccine-hesitant are holding out for an MRNA vaccine."
So if you want to get vaccinated in a Pharmacy you won't have to book online for it.
However, you will need to book an appointment with a pharmacist.
