The Department of Health has reported a further 8 Covid-19 deaths and 448 new cases.
229 of the new cases are in Dublin with 38 in Meath, 35 in Kildare, 34 in Cork and 16 in Limerick.
So the remaining 96 cases are located in 16 other counties.
Meanwhile, 109 patients are in hospital with the disease, 34 of which are in ICU.
The 5 day moving average of new cases is now 426, down from 445 this day last week.

Meanwhile The European Medicines Agency is confident Covid-19 vaccines can offer sufficient protection against the Indian variant of the virus.
EMA officials say they are monitoring the data that is emerging, but are reassured the vaccines work.
More than 250,000 people have now died from covid-19 in India.
While the World Health Organisation says the Indian variant is of "global concern".
Dr Marco Cavaleri says the vaccines being rolled out in Europe should protect against the Indian strain:
"The data seems to be rather re-assuring in the fact that, at least the mRNA vaccines will be able to neutralise this variant.
"At least to an extend that will guarantee sufficient protection."
