There have been a further 534 COVID-19 cases reported in Ireland today.
Figures released earlier showed six more people with COVID-19 have died over the past week, bringing the total deaths since the pandemic began to 5,006.
The latest hospital figures show there were 58 patients being treated for the virus in Irish hospitals - down slightly compared to yesterday.
There are 17 patients being treated for the virus in intensive care.
The head of the HSE says the growth of the Delta variant will likely "outmatch" Ireland’s supply of Covid vaccines.
Officials 70% of the adult population have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
While two million people are now fully vaccinated in Ireland.
Paul Reid says there could be a jump in the number of Delta variant cases in the coming weeks.
He says this will likely happen before the population is fully protected from the virus;
"Our supply lines for the next while do dip down through July [...] The caseloads will increase. We'll keep vaccinating people [...] but there is a gap there."
