The lowest number of Covid-19 cases this year has been recorded today.
NPHET has reported 259 new cases this evening - the lowest since December 12th.
There are 76 Covid patients in hospital, with 27 in intensive care.
The five-day moving average now stands at 327 - a further drop compared to recent days.
More than 3.1 million vaccines have now been administered in Ireland - with around 55% of the adult population having received one dose, and over a quarter now fully vaccinated.
Health Minister Stephen Donnelly said outbreaks have been “almost eliminated” in fully vaccinated cohorts, including people aged over 65.
