The man killed in a hit and run in Limerick City has been named as champion boxer Kevin Sheehy.
The 20-year-old was hit by a jeep that failed to stop around twenty to five this morning on Hyde Road.
Gardaí are looking for a black Mitsubishi Shogun jeep in connection with the hit and run -- they're appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.
Sheehy was the under-22 all-Ireland heavyweight champion.
Hyde Road remains closed this afternoon as Garda investigators search for evidence.
