Carphone Warehouse is closing it's Irish stores, with over 400 redundancies expected.
It's website has also been shut down with immediate effect, and replaced by an information page.
The company has blamed the pandemic and changing shopping habits for the decision.
"Customers are changing the way they buy mobile devices and connectivity."
"(They are,) replacing their handsets less often and buying them separately or as part of more flexible bundles."
"Although these changes in behaviour were anticipated," the company says it didn't expect that so quickly.
"However, the change in shopping behaviours has been accelerated by the pandemic."

I've Bought From Carphone Warehouse Recently?
Meanwhile, the company has committed to helping recent customers with it's central customer service.
However if you've signed up to a contract with them, you should speak to the network directly.
So that could be Eir, Three, Vodafone etc.
Those with gift vouchers for Carphone Warehouse can swap them for Currys PC World vouchers.
The company has posted the full details here.
