The Junior Finance Minister has confirmed the cost of car insurance looks set to go down.
It follows a landmark decision by judges to decrease pay-outs for injuries like whiplash.
This means customers' premiums will reduce as a result.
Car Insurance Expected To Drop From June
Minister Sean Fleming says it’s good news and should come into effect by the second half of the year.
"Some of the companies have said they'll start immediately, from June onwards, reducing the premiums."
He adds, "they're not giving exact percentages at this stage."
However, "they are saying that they'll, in good faith, begin reducing premiums for the second half of this year."
"I think that's a very quick response."
