Boy B’s appeal against his conviction for Ana Kriegel’s murder was due to begin at 10 o’clock this morning.
But there was a delay to allow him some time to consult with his lawyers and his parents.
When the case was eventually called, his barrister, James Dwyer SC, told the judges that his client wished to withdraw his appeal.
He also confirmed he wouldn’t be appealing the sentence he was handed down for Ana’s murder.
Boy B, who’s now 18, but whose identity will forever be protected by law because of his age at the time of the murder, addressed the court to confirm that was his wish.
He also confirmed he understood the consequences of his decision.
Ana’s mother Geraldine was in court today.
Sadly, her husband Patric passed away a few months ago.
Both sat through each day of their daughter’s harrowing trial.
