US President Joe Biden has declared 'Unity' amongst Western Powers against Russia in Ukraine.
The Pentagon announced that up to 8,500 US troops are now on ''heightened alert'' over the situation in eastern Europe.
However, it is important to note that Russian ambassador to Ireland Yuri Filatov told reporters that Russia has “no plans” to attack Ukraine or any other country. He accused the US and Nato countries’ focus “on this invasion scenario” as being an attempt to frame the “really important issue” of European security in a false way.
Today, I spoke with European leaders in response to Russia’s military buildup on Ukraine’s borders. We discussed our joint efforts to deter further Russian aggression, such as preparations to impose severe economic costs on Russia and reinforce security on the eastern flank. pic.twitter.com/2XvTTvdLJl
