In Kerry, there are currently 11,204 people with asthma and 16,248 people with COPD. In Clare there are 9,024 people with asthma and 13,070 people with COPD.
The Asthma Society of Ireland is assuring the 380,000 people who have asthma in Ireland, and the 500,000 people with COPD that there is no national shortage of asthma and COPD medication.
The ASI are also appealing to patients to refrain from stockpiling medications during the current coronavirus pandemic.
The ASI warns people with asthma and COPD to only trust reputable sources for advice on their condition and advises them to continue taking their preventative medication as prescribed.

Callers can speak to a specialist nurse to get practical advice about managing their or their child’s asthma triggers within the home.
