Four men have been arrested in connection with the incident.
This sexual assault is alleged to have happened in the early hours of Sunday morning in Rathmines.
Four men were arrested in connection with the investigation and detained at three garda stations in Dublin.
All four have since been released without charge.
A file is to be sent to the director of public prosecutions.
An investigation is ongoing.
