Aircraft crash
Two men have died after a light aircraft crashed near Athy in Co. Kildare last night.
The bodies of the two men were found in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene of a plane crash in Belan, Moone in Athy yesterday evening.
A search was carried out by Gardaí and with the assistance of Irish Coast Guard helicopter rescue 116 the the light aircraft was located at half past 4 this morning
Two men, one 70 years of age the other in his 50s were killed
Their bodies have been removed to the mortuary in Naas General Hospital.
The Air Accident Investigation unit is currently at the scene and the Irish Aviation Authority has been notified.
