Aldi will start paying their staff a living wage of at least €11.70 an hour from the first of February 2018.
This will represent a 20c increase in the entry-level pay for Aldi Store Assistants, Stock Assistants, and Caretakers.
The supermarket chain already pays some of its Irish staff up to €14 an hour.
Giles Hurley, Group Managing Director, Aldi Ireland, said the company is rewarding workers without whose dedication "day in, day out, we would be unable to provide customers with the lowest grocery prices in Ireland.
Aldi is continuing to open more stores across the South West and the rest of Ireland, as well as spending €60m in revamping and refurbishing its existing stores.
