Of the six driving test centres with the worst pass rates in the country, five are in Dublin.

Nenagh in Tipperary is bottom of the list with 6 in 10 learners failing last year.

Finglas – that has the second-lowest pass rate in the country – with just 42 per cent of drivers getting their full license here last year.

The first week of 2021 was the luckiest for prospective drivers to get their licence with the highest pass rate of the year.

The five Dublin centres with the lowest pass rates – all below 46 per cent - are Finglas, Charlestown, Raheny and two hubs in Mulhuddart.

Wendy Callan from Callan driving school says some people book tests outside of Dublin in the hopes of passing, many drivers are known to seek out test centres with low fail rates so as to get their driving documentation.
