James told Sarina that his new album revolves around the idea of being, "at peace with the reality of life."
He gave an example, "Oh, if I just had that one extra thing it might make all the difference that might suddenly lead to this enlightenment I've been told will happen for me."

The artist continued, "I just kind of got to a point where I was like, if I keep looking for this stuff, then I'm going to miss the things that are happening."
"So much of life is aspirational and that's good - it keeps the world turning, it keeps me moving - but at the same time, I've missed a lot of stuff because I'm just like very process orientated."

Sarina and James went on to chat about his at home performance on Stephen Colbert's The Late Show.
He admitted it was one of his all time favourite TV moments.
The singer confessed, "TV is a funny thing."
He elaborated, "There's a compromise there that exists between the filming aspect and the recording aspect."
"Usually visually outweighs sonics - that's the reality of it."
"I remember we did Kimmel a few years ago and it was... I just didn't nail it and I didn't nail it because the situation was just rushed."

James admitted, "It was my fault. But it was just one of those learning curves where I said coming out of that, if I ever get to go on TV again, I'm gonna make sure that I deliver it exactly how I want to."
He said putting on a show from home allowed him to control the performance.
