Niall Horan has finally confirmed new music is on the way and revealed he has started the songwriting process for his fourth solo studio album.
It has been almost two years since the former One Direction star released his third studio album The Show and having just wrapped a tour of the same name, he said he was ready to work on something new.
In an interview with Golf Pass, Niall was asked: "What's the number one thing you're currently working on or excited about for the future?"
He answered: "I am literally, this week, just about to sit down and I've been like accumulating some ideas but I'm going to sit down and start writing my next album.

Following up on his claims, fans were treated to some photographic evidence that the star is, in fact, in the studio on Instagram.
Captioning a selection of shots, “A man about the town,” Niall shared a variety of musical shots including guitars on the carpet of a studio and a shot with songwriter Julian Bunetta.
Julian has worked with the Irish singer before, back in his One Direction days, and helped the band pen Night Changes, History and Story Of My Life.
Fans rushed to the comment section to express their excitement at the prospect of another Niall album.
One typed: “Love that you still work with julian!!! good music is definitely being made in that room.”
Fellow Irish singer Cian Ducrot said: “Ooof you know the new music gonna be fire,” while Spotify’s official account added: “we speak for everyone when we say we'ved missed you”.
As he is just at the beginning of the process, there is no release date or title as of yet - so watch this space!
