McFly
McFly have signed their first record deal since 2009 and have announced a brand new album.
Their latest collection of songs is due out sometime this year via the label BMG.
The boys shared the news during an interview with The BBC today.
Singer Tom admitted, 'There was a strong possibility McFly would never happen again.'
'We genuinely didn't know how to get back on track.'
It's been seven years since the lads formed a brief super-group with Busted.
The boys tried to reunite in 2017, but there were tensions within the band that made it impossible.
The band's drummer Harry told The BBC, 'Although we never thought they would, things got a bit weird between us.'
They considered group therapy
Harry continued, 'We tried to talk it out a couple of times over those years and it just was very unproductive.'
'So, yeah, there were moments where we talked about, 'Do we need to get in a room with a therapist and document this?''
Tom revealed the tensions began during their hiatus, when they each embarked on their own separate journeys.
He explained, 'A lot of those things became the unspoken issues.'
'These are your best friends, who you want to be stood on stage with.'
'And seeing them do things without you is really difficult to deal with,' he admitted.

The comeback
It wasn't until their managed Matt Fletcher got involved, that the boys finally came to their senses.
Tom said, 'He booked the O2 [last year] without telling us and he said, 'Are you going to play it or not?''
'And we all obviously said yes. I think having a date in the diary that said, 'McFly at the O2,' just made us all realise we'd been stupid.'
Tom revealed, 'That was the start of the next chapter.'
The band booked a recording studio for two months at the beginning of this year, and began to write as a group again.
Speaking about the recording process, guitarist Danny said, 'It's the first time I feel like we've all been part of it.'
'We were all involved, split down the middle, and it was just such a collaborative, energetic process.'
The new album
McFly's brand new album will drop sometime this year, while the single is expected out later this month.
The title of the track hasn't yet been announced but according to The BBC, 'it's an intoxicatingly upbeat crowd-pleaser.'
McFly themselves have described it as having a, 'festival vibe.'
Danny said, 'There's that hands-in-the-air feeling about it. Like when you're drunk or you're having a barbecue.'
'You can put it on and your kids will dance to it, your wife will dance to it, your granddad, everybody.'
'Even the lads can get involved, the football crowd. I could really hear it on the Fifa soundtrack.'
We can't wait to see what's next for McFly!
