However at the end of Sunday night's episode it was revealed that the public could vote for one wildcard act from each category to go through.
According to The Sun, Saturday's show will see eight contestants perform while the other eight will sing on Sunday.
Then at the end of Sunday night's show, two contestants will be sent home.
Another three contestants will be sent home the following weekend.
A source told The Sun: "With 16 contestants and only six weeks of live shows to get through, the eliminations are going to be coming thick and fast."
Wicklow brothers Sean and Conor Price will be flying the flag for Ireland after they got through in the Groups category on Sunday.
