Stranger Things 4
Netflix have released the full official trailer for season four of Stranger Things and it looks so good.
Volume one premieres May 27th.
It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins.
Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn't made things any easier.
In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.
The trailer opens with a deep and terrifying voice saying, "You've broken everything."
"Your suffering is almost at the end."
We then watch as Max sits at her brother's graveside and says, "Dear Billy, I don't know if you can even hear this."
"Ever since you left, everything's been a total disaster."
"For a while, we tried to be happy... normal... I know that's impossible."
Sequences from the upcoming season flash across the screen as Max speaks.
We later see a man sitting with Eleven in a diner. He tells her, "I relocated you guys far from Hawkins because I thought you'd be safe."
"A war is coming. I'm afraid your friends at Hawkins are very much in the eye of the storm."
"I don't know how to say this, other than just to say it - without you, we can't win this war."
Towards the end of the trailer, we see Hopper imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka.
"I was convinced I was put here for some other reason," we hear him say.
"Maybe I could still help, even if it's the last thing I do."
An open letter to fans
Series creators the Duffer Brothers announced earlier this year that season five will be the last.
In an open letter to fans, they wrote, 'Seven years ago, we planned out the complete story arc for Stranger Things.'
'At the time, we predicted the story would last four to five seasons.'
'It proved too large to tell in four, but – as you'll soon see for yourselves – we are now hurtling towards our finale.'
'Season four will be the penultimate season; season five will be the last,' they confirmed.
'There are still many more exciting stories to tell within the world of Stranger Things,' the boys teased.
'But first, we hope you that you stay with us as we finish this tale of a powerful girl named Eleven and her brave friends, of a broken police chief and a ferocious mum, of a small town called Hawkins and an alternate dimension known only as the Upside Down.'
Season four, volume one premieres 27th May.
And volume two premieres 1st July.
