Ciarán Hinds & Jude Hill talk, 'Belfast'
Belfast stars Ciarán Hinds and Jude Hill joined SPIN's Sarina Bellissimo for a chat recently.
Among other things, Ciarán spoke about how this film opened up huge things in his heart, and Jude revealed how he got the part.
11-year-old Jude Hill was thinking about going into Software Engineering before he landed a role in this movie.
Sarina asked how how it happened and he said, "It all started off with a single self tape from my drama teacher."
"And that turned into multiple callbacks on Zoom."
"The last two being in real life with [director] Sr. Kenneth Branagh."
"Meeting him was just a dream come true to be honest. He's so nice, you can always just sit down and have a nice chat with him."
Sarina asked how he, "kept it together," throughout all the different auditions.
"I was thinking about how cool it would be to act in a film at the end, so patience is key."
"So I waited out through all of those different callbacks."
"Each and every callback, I just enjoyed so much," Jude admitted.
Elsewhere in the interview, Ciarán shared what it was like when he decided it was time for him to leave.
While Jude spoke about the tears that flowed on their last day on set, and they both discussed how this film touched them.
