The film is about young Sammy Fabelman, an aspiring filmmaker growing up in post-World War II era Arizona.
According to Empire, Sammy discovers, 'a shattering family secret and explores how the power of films can help him see the truth.'

The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival over the weekend and received a phenomenal reaction.
It features an all-star cast including Paul Dano and Michelle Williams as Burt and Mitzi; the parents to 16-year-old aspiring filmmaker Sammy, played by Gabriel LaBelle.
Seth Rogen also stars in the movie as Burt's best friend, Bennie Loewy.
The Fabelmans drops in cinemas across Ireland 27th January.
