A Top Gun sequel is on its way and we finally have a release date.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed on Twitter that the sequel called Top Gun: Maverick has a director and release date.
Excited to make it official. Joe Kosinski is on board to direct. And Top Gun is coming to theaters July 12, 2019.

The film will be released 33 years after the original movie.
