The creators of Stranger Things are being sued.
According to TMZ, a writer is claiming that the plot of the hit Netflix show is based on his short film Montauk, and the script of his planned feature film, The Montauk Project. The movie is based on top secret government experiments.
Charlie Kessler claims that he pitched the idea to Matt and Ross Duffer back in 2014, only to have it dismissed and they said that they weren't interested.
He is suing for breach of implied contract. He's also seeking damages and an injunction which will prevent the Duffer Bros from using concepts that he claims are his.
Kessler's movie Montauk won an award at the Hamptons International Film Festival in 2012.
