SAG Awards 2022

The 2022 Screen Actors Guild Awards took place last night, with some of Hollywood's finest actors walking the red carpet.

If you missed the ceremony, and you want to be kept in the loop, you've come to the right place.

Here are some of the best/ most talked about moments from last night's ceremony:

Helen Mirren's Life Achievement win

Helen Mirren received the Life Achievement Award last night.

Her acceptance speech was quite funny: "Lifetime Achievement. Sounds so grand. I suppose I'm still alive so by that measure, I'm eligible."

"Thank you S.A.G so much for this. I hate to say the word, 'SAG,' at my age."

The SHAG Awards

Yep, you read that right.

While on stage with Selena Gomez, Martin Short said: "Well here we are Selena, The SHAG Awards - honouring this year's best performance in adult film."

When Selena explained it was the SAG awards, he brutally quipped, "That makes so much more sense, I was surprised to see Meryl Streep."

Michael Keaton's bathroom mishap

Okay, so that makes this story sound way worse than it is.

Let me explain - Michael Keaton was in the bathroom when he won Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor for his role in Dopesick.

When he didn't appear on stage, Salma Hayek, who was presenting the award, hilariously said into the mic, "Are you kidding me? I have stage fright."

Michael finally appeared on stage and apologised, saying the bathroom was packed.

"Thank you very much, sorry. Quick trip to the men's room. It's packed by the way."

Watch the moment here:

Troy Kotsur makes history

Star of drama/ musical CODA, Troy Kotsur made history by becoming the first deaf male actor to win a solo SAG award.

In his acceptance speech, he reflected on the struggles he faced at the beginning of his career as a, "starving actor."

"Back then I used to sleep in my car, I slept in my dressing room backstage, I couch-surfed and all of that. So thank you so much."

The Ted Lasso team overjoyed by win

Ted Lasso received the award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series and the whole cast accepted the award via video chat.

Hannah Waddingham, who plays Rebecca, accepted the award on behalf of the cast who stood behind her and cheered.

She also gave a shoutout to their co-star Juno Temple who was in the audience, "JUNO TEMPLE! WE LOVE YOU!"

There were plenty of first experiences for some actors at last night's SAG Awards.

For example; Will Smith won his first SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for King Richard.
