Riverdale actors announce their departure from the show
Marisol Nichols and Skeet Ulrich have announced they're leaving Riverdale.
They've played Hermione Lodge and F. P. Jones in the series since it began in 2017.
It's unclear how their characters will be written off.
Nichols and Ulrich will continue their Riverdale journey until the end of the current fourth series.
In a statement to E! News, the F. P. Jones star says he's, 'incredibly grateful for the friendships [he's] made on Riverdale.'
He admits, 'I will miss seeing everyone on a daily basis.'
Ulrich goes on, 'I'm proud to have been part of such a talented group of people, in front of the camera and behind.'
He explains, 'But I've decided that it's time for me to move on to explore other creative opportunities.'
Nichols makes a statement
Nichols also makes a statement to E!, 'I had an incredible time bringing Hermione Lodge to life and working with my amazing cast, who became family.'
She says, 'We had so many wonderful times together during the highest of highs and the lowest of lows.'
'We really do have the best fans ever. I am looking forward to the next chapter and am excited about the future.'
Show runner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa also made a statement to the publication.
He says, 'Part of life in Riverdale — and part of growing up — is saying goodbye to people.'
'I'm grateful to Skeet and Marisol for their incredible work on the show these last four years...'

Aguirre-Sacasa continues, 'We all wish them well on their future endeavors.'
'F.P. and Hermione will never be far from our hearts.'
He adds, 'And, of course, they're always welcome back in Riverdale.'
