Normal People fan receives an email from Connell Waldron
A Normal People fan named Travis sent an email to the address used for the character Connell on the show.
In the email, he offered the fictional character some advice in his relationship with Marianne and encouraged him to open up.
And he was shocked to find Connell actually replied!

Travis shared the exchange between himself and Connell on Twitter earlier this month.
In his email, he tells the Trinity student that he needs to, 'find a way to forthrightly communicate [his] feelings to Marianne.'
He said, 'Find a way to love her as fully as possible, be authentic, and don't let your head get messed up by what other people think.'
Travis went on to advise Connell to, 'Maybe read up on love languages.'
So the Sligo native responded, 'You're right. I've been a right idiot with Marianne.'
'I feel like I keep making the same mistake over and over...'

Connell went on, 'But I don't trust myself not to hurt her again and I don't feel in control of my emotions.'
'I don't know what will happen with us now, I never thought I'd be the one to move to New York and she'd still be back home in Sligo.'
'But I think of her all the time and I don't know if I can ever feel at home here.'
Connell can't stop thinking about her
The writer added, 'I try to focus on my writing, but I always end up thinking of Marianne.'
He admitted, 'We talk sometimes but I've never felt further from her.'
Connell wrapped up, 'Thank you for your email, it means a lot. Connell.'

Travis shared the exchange online saying he sent the email because he was frustrated by Connell's terrible communication skills.
'So when his email appeared on screen in Ep. 6, I shot him a quick note . . . AND HE WROTE BACK'
