Brendan O'Carroll says that Mrs Browns Boys could be axed by next year.

Irish comedian Brendan, who stars as Agnes Brown, wants to turn his attention to spin-off talk show All Round To Mrs Brown's.

Having previously said that he would end the show in 'heartbreaking' scenes, it seems the much-loved Mammy may be 'killed off'.

Fans of the Mrs Browns Boys will be devastated by the news, which means this year's Christmas special could be the final ever outing.

Brendan told the Daily Star :

"It's becoming more of a sitcom and more of our characters are creeping into the show."

Last year's Christmas edition was watched by 6.8 million viewers, with a consolidated figure of 9M, making it the second most popular show on Christmas Day.
