Riverdale 7 year time jump

A brand new Riverdale poster and trailer has been released ahead of the seven year time jump.

Last night's episode followed the characters as they graduated from high school.

And next week, they'll fast-forward a whole seven years.

The poster

The new poster features the main cast, all grown up. But let's be honest, there's not a huge difference.

We didn't expect a massive change anyway, considering the actors were in their 20s playing high school teens.

Betty actress Lili Reinhart made a very good point on Twitter last night.

She wrote, 'My hair is finally down... can you believe it? #riverdale'

Her character is renowned for consistently donning a slicked back ponytail, so this is a nice change.

The trailer

The trailer opens with Archie saying, "We're in our twenties, everything feels..."

Toni finishes his sentence, "different?"

Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, and Toni are shown sitting in the front row of a town meeting.

Hiram Lodge stands on stage and announces, "Riverdale is here by dissolved."

But Archie vows to, "bring this town back to life."

Short sequences of romantic moments between characters, and fight scenes flash across the screen.

The trailer ends with Toni telling Archie, "A lot has changed since we graduated high school Archie."

Episode 3

We can't wait to see what's next for the Riverdale characters, even though last night's episode hurt to watch.

All four main characters went their separate ways after high school and it felt like the end of an era.

Lili even took to Twitter to check in on her fans, 'Are you all..... okay?'

Creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa celebrated the episode in a touching Instagram post.

He wrote, 'Today’s a big day in #Riverdale.'

'As excited/nervous as I was for my own high school graduation waaaay too many years ago.'

'Somehow, this one means more.'

'Not all of our characters survived to make it to graduation.'

'Not all of the actors we wanted to come back were able to for various reasons (including Covid).'

Roberto continued, 'But so grateful to everyone in this picture.'

'And to many more who aren’t in the picture, but we’ll be seeing soon.'

'Next stop: Seven years in the future…' He finished his post.
