Are we getting a Lizzie McGuire reboot?
The future of the Lizzie McGuire reboot is uncertain this week.
So what happened?
Late last year Disney Plus revealed they were working on a new version of the show.
Original creator Terri Minsky was on board, as was Hilary Duff.
However, Disney have since moved away from the project.
Sources tell Variety that Minsky and Hilary Duff wanted a more adult version of the show.
Disney were initially on board with their approach but executives weren't happy with the content when on set.
It's believed Disney want the show to be more family friendly.
Variety say Minsky and her team were fired from the production which hasn't sat well with Hilary.
Creator Terri Minsky gives an interview
Show creator Terri Minsky has had her say an interview with Variety this week.
She admits, 'I am so proud of the two episodes we did.'
'Hilary has a grasp of Lizzie McGuire at 30 that needs to be seen. It’s a wonderful thing to watch.'
'I would love the show to exist, but ideally I would love it if it could be given that treatment of going to Hulu and doing the show that we were doing.'
Minsky finished, 'That’s the part where I am completely in the dark. It’s important to me that this show was important to people.'
She adds, 'I felt like I wanted to do a show that was worthy of that kind of devotion.
Hilary has now thrown shade at Disney via Instagram Stories.
