After winning 7 Emmy nominations this week, the David actor couldn't think of a better way to end the series.

Speaking backstage at the ceremony, Dan was asked about the potential for a movie.

As quoted by Variety, he said, "To be honest this is the best way we could have ever ended the show."

But he admitted he wouldn't rule out the possibility of a movie.

Dan said, "If there is an idea that pops into my head it has to be really freaking good because this is a nice way to say goodbye."

"Fingers crossed we get a nice idea popping into our head soon… I would love to work with these people again."

The Canadian show made history at the Emmys this year.

They were awarded the most wins by a comedy in a year, and became the first show to sweep all four acting categories.

Dan (David Rose) and Eugene (Johnny Rose) also became the first father and son to win in the same year.
