The Powerpuff Girls
The CW are working on a live action reboot of The Powerpuff Girls.
However, this time the superheroes are all grown up, resenting the fact that they lost their childhood to fighting villains.
The original series
The original animated series, created by Craig McCracken, ran from 1998 to 2005 on Cartoon Network.
It follows three young girls named Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup.
They use their superpowers to protect the people of Townsville from evil villains.
A reboot of the original animated series premiered on Cartoon Network in 2016.
However, they used completely different voice actors for the main roles.
They only wrapped up the reboot's third season last summer.
The live action reboot
The CW are taking over this new series, with help from Berlanti Productions.
According to Deadline, Diablo Cody (Juno) and Heather Regnier (Veronica Mars) are writing the script, and also acting as producers.
While Warner Bros. Television is the studio.
As per Deadline, this live action reboot will see The Powerpuff Girls as, 'disillusioned twentysomethings.'
They find themselves resenting the fact that they, 'lost their childhood to crime fighting.'
'Will they agree to reunite now that the world needs them more than ever?'
We can't wait to see who they cast in the lead roles!
