The Bodyguard could be coming back for a second season
Deadline has reported that Line of Duty & Bodyguard creator Mercurio is “going through the logistics” of a second season of the Madden-fronted drama.
Currently, nothing has been officially confirmed about Season 2 has been confirmed, but, Mercurio has confirmed that he is in talks with the BBC, saying;
"We're in talks. We're going through the logistics of it. There's no real update now,"
Given the massive success that both Line of Duty and Bodyguard have achieved, we're almost certain David Budd is going to return.
The show gave the BBC its biggest drama debut since records began, grabbing a peak audience of 11 million viewers, or a 47.9 per cent share for the finale on BBC One.
